Home for Good: Advancing Women’s Housing Through Systems Change
Research shows that finding safe and affordable housing keeps women from going back to abusive relationships, gives them a fighting chance at avoiding relapse into addictions, and provides their children with some sense of security.
This is where you come in. As a landlord, property manager, housing superintendent, or AirBnB host, you have the opportunity to provide safe, secure housing for women.
About Home for Good
Home for Good is a three-year Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) funded partnership between Alice House, The Elizabeth Fry Society, The Marguerite Centre, and YWCA Halifax. It was formed to investigate the barriers women face when trying to access safe, secure, and affordable housing once they’ve left the transition and second-stage housing systems.
Home for Good: Changing Perceptions eLearning Module
We’ve put together this free 30-minute interactive eLearning module to help you learn more about the barriers women face when seeking housing, as well as the impact you can make by improving women’s experiences and changing the outcomes of their stories as they seek housing.
Working at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to explore videos, activities, and interactive scenarios based on the real-life experiences of women transitioning from supportive to market housing.
